Della Pauline Hutchinson Ewing, born May 3, 1932 and passed away May 27, 2026. She was 94 years old. She was born to Louis Leonard Hutchinson and Lucy Fetters. She grew up in Wapello, Iowa and always told everyone that Wapello was named after the Indian Chief Wapello. She met the love of her life and six months later married Donald Bert Ewing on July 4, 1948, to whom she was married to for 72 years before he passed away in October, 2020.
Della was a woman of strong faith and believed in Yahweh and Yahshua and the coming Kingdom and belonged to The Congregation of Yahweh.
She loved her 10 children or “her chickadees”, all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with her whole heart. She was first and foremost a mother, who guided her children with a firm but loving hand and boy did that firm hand hurt sometimes 😊. Her favorite things to do was to travel whenever she could, play cards, word search, tell tales about her childhood and talk about all the friends she had throughout her life. She loved tacos, taco pizza, ice cream, and her English Toffee Cappuccino.
Della was preceded in death by both her parents and sister, her husband, Donald Bert Ewing, her sons Donald Chris, Donald David and Donald Mark and a daughter, Donna Diane and sweet Catherine a great-granddaughter. Her surviving children are Donald Jay and wife Barb, Donald Lantz and wife Judy, Laura Christine Truelock and husband Jess, Donald Dana, Rebecca Lynn McDonald, Mary Elizabeth Farber and husband Jason and a surviving nephew Tommy Murray.
All her chickadees used to tell her that they would have 10 children each and bring them all to her house to watch all 100 of them at the same time. She said she would be out the back door when we got there. Good thing everyone got wiser as they got older.
She had 29 grandchildren: Christy, Erica, Natasha, Nicole, Joshua, Lexi, Chad, Carissa, Missy, Molly, Jessica, Jennie, Justin, Kaci Breanne, Tiffany, Lisa, Brandon, Ryan, Kayla, Troy, Savannah, Seth, Billy, Bobby, Nicky, Marissa, Kayla, Alyssa, Victoria. She had many great-grandchildren: Caden, Alexa, Rylee, Tyler, Amanda, Hailee, Joey, Olivia, Brennen, Riley, Sophie, Morgan, Lily, Cedrick, Baily, Oliver, Vivian, Charlie, Harlow, Simon, Iris.
