Dennis Ray Brown

Dennis Ray Brown, 69, of Lubbock, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, businessman, and friend, went peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, late Friday evening, September 25, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.

Dennis was a kind, gentle, and loving Christian man who strived to Give God the Glory in everything he did.

Dennis was born in Lubbock, Texas, on December 19, 1956, to Alton and Erma Brown. He graduated from Coronado High School in May 1975. Just two months after graduation, Dennis partnered with his brother Curtis to open C&D Moving Services, a business he operated for more than 50 years. He later shared his love of food and fellowship by opening the Jukebox Diner in 1995.

On April 20, 1985, Dennis married the love of his life, Stacy Ann Boyd. They celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary this past spring. Dennis and Stacy were blessed with two daughters, Ashley Nicole Brown and Tiffany Michelle Gates, son-in-law David Gates, and granddaughter Berkley Nicole Gates. His girls were his pride and joy. Dennis was the spiritual leader, provider, and protector of his family, and they treasured him as their “Precious Priceless Gift from God.”

Dennis and Stacy were members of Oakwood Baptist Church for many years, where they taught fourth-grade Sunday School together for 17 years. Dennis faithfully served the Lord as a deacon, sang in the choir, shared the Gospel on mission trips, and looked for opportunities to share his faith wherever he went.

Dennis and Stacy later became active members of First Baptist Church of Lubbock, where they were surrounded by the love and support of their Sunday School class and church community. Dennis loved to begin his mornings in God’s Word and in fellowship with other believers. He participated in numerous Bible studies and served as a leader in Bible Study Fellowship.

Dennis loved people, and his kindness, gentle spirit, sense of humor, and genuine interest in others made him a treasured friend to many.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Stacy; daughter Ashley Brown; daughter Tiffany Gates and husband David; granddaughter Berkley Gates; brother Alton “Butch” Brown Jr. and wife Toni; brother Curtis Brown and wife Tracy; sister Bryanette Jones and husband Butch; sister Brigitte Erickson and husband Earl; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Erma Brown.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, 6025 82nd Street in Lubbock. A service celebrating Dennis’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 1, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Lubbock, 2201 Broadway.
