

Dom passed away on March 11, 2014 at the age of 92. He was born July 28, 1921 in New York City to Domenico and Angelina Tartaglione. Dom was married to the late Josephine Tartaglione on October 12, 1946, until her death on April 11, 2006.
Dominic's service to his country as part of the "Greatest Generation" spanned his entire life. He began his military career in 1942 with the US Army. During WWll, he served in the European theater and earned four major battle stars. In1952, he became a New York City Police officer. During that time he became a member of the US Air Force Reserves where he proceeded to the top of the enlisted ranks as a Chief Master Sergeant and Chief Load Master for the C141 Starlifter aircraft . His duties included bringing men and material to the Vietnam conflict. He loved being around his family and long drives cross country.
Dom is survived by son Dana and his wife Cindy of Lubbock, daughter Joanne Auston and her husband Jim of Browns Summit, NC; four grandchildren, Jami and Abbi, from Utah and Danny and Michael from NC; step grandchildren, Jennifer Busby, Leslie Koetting and Matt Rogers; great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Zen, Gage, Sadie, Olivia, Dayne, Bella, Bonnee, Katy, Cole, Jude, and Sara.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Frank and daughter Rita.
