Doris Brown

Doris was born to Cordis and Alpha Riley on January 3, 1945. She married Therman Elvin Brown on June 1, 1964 in Lubbock and together they raised seven children. Doris was a lifelong resident of Lubbock and attended Quaker Avenue Church of God. Doris was a pioneering member of the Lubbock Doll Club and was well known for her beautiful porcelain doll craftsmanship. She always had an eye for stylish clothing and stunning jewelry and took this passion to another level in her later years by working at Sam’s Club Jewelry counter to pass her time. She loved her dog, Bella, enjoyed lunches with her friends and spending holidays with her family.

Doris is preceded in death by her husband Therman, grandsons; Thomas Hampton III and Bill Brown, children; Becky Carpentiere and Lester Brown, sister Norene Anthony and brothers Kenneth Riley and Larry Riley.

Doris is survived by her children; Toni Penkert, Teresa Greenwald, Cindy Farmer, Vicky Brown, and Rickey Brown, brother Jerry Riley, many grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and numerous beloved friends.

A visitation for Doris will be held Friday, February 9, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home, 5740 West 19th St, Lubbock, TX. A funeral service will occur Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home.
