Doris Ann Smith was born on May 24,1947 in Spur, Texas to Vernon and Edith O’Guinn. They moved to Lubbock when she was young and Doris continued to live in Lubbock until the day God called her home on January 2, 2021. Doris attended school in Lubbock and graduated from Lubbock High School in 1966.
She was a homemaker. Doris was a member of Bethany Baptist Church and she was an active member of her Sunday School Class. She loved her Lord with all her heart. She also loved her family and all that included as well. Doris loved when there were family gatherings and she got to see everyone. She was her happiest when she was surrounded by her brother, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandkids, nieces, and nephews. Doris lined her walls with pictures of her family.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents Vernon and Edith O’Guinn, her husband Fred Smith, and her great nephew Matthew Smith
Those left to cherish her memories are her brother Coy O’Guinn and wife Kathy,
daughter Crystal Simpson, three grandchildren, 2 nephews: Cory O’Guinn (Kelly) and Cody O’Guinn (Jena), 2 nieces: Jami Smith (Steve) and Katie Majors (James), 13 great nieces and nephews and a handful of cousins. Doris is also survived by her best friend Gary Parker .
