

On Tuesday, December 27, 2022, Doyle L Wassom, A Beloved father, passed away. He was 81 years old. Born to Helen Mae Wassom and Calvin White Wassom. Doyle graduated from Bovina High school. He began his career with the Texas State Highway Department shortly after graduation in Bovina Texas. He retired with the Texas Highway Department as Maintenance Foreman in Dimmitt Texas.
Doyle had been active in the Army National Guard, the Masonic Lodge and the local Kiwanis Club. After retirement Doyle got into custom hay bailing, raised a few head of cattle and drove grain trucks during harvest. Doyle's hobbies included restoring old Chevy trucks, collecting coins and guns, hunting, shooting, fishing, watching old westerns and reloading ammo.
He is survived by his son, Danny Lee Wassom and (wife, Carla, daughter, Ursula and granddaughters; Harley and Stella) and a sister Christine Johnston (her children Christopher Dennis Johnston and Dawn Denise Lucas). Along with many nieces and nephews and their children.
He is preceeded in death by his mother, Helen Mae Wassom, father, Calvin White Wassom, two sisters; Mary Jewell Davis and Loretta Jane Haney; and two brothers; James George Wassom and Allan Wayne Wassom.
A Memorial will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home's Abbey Chapel (5740 19th st Lubbock Texas) on Saturday December 31, 2022 at 1pm.
