He was a joy to work with on the South Plains Board and as a fellow Silver Beaver, I learned so much from him. Delightful were the days at Camp Post and TR. My thoughts and prayers are with the family...

To the Arnold family, my deepest sympathy for your loss. Dick and Jim, I know what it is to lose a father. I lost mine at the young age of 56. You are very fortunate to have had your Dad for 32 more years than I had mine. Your father was a great scout and a good leader in the scouts, though I did not have much contact with him as a scout myself, some of my very fondest memories are of troop 522 and Dick and Jim in that wonderful scouting adventure. Peace be with you all at this difficult time.

When some people leave this world, we know that it is a little less for them having gone. Your heart aches, but you are grateful that you were in their presence for a brief while. I worked for "Dr. A" for a little more than 5 years; he was my friend and mentor after that for more than 23. To say that he was kind, generous, interested in others, honest, ethical, sensitive, thoughtful, intelligent, hard-working and gentle barely scratches the surface of all he was. I respected, admired and loved this good man. I owe him for teaching me so much about life and relationships, more than my own father, and am forever indebted to him for his kind listening and support during difficult times in my life. I will miss him terribly. My heart goes out to Louise, Jim and Richard, and their families. Please know that I am thinking of you all and wish I could be there to offer comfort. I wish for you peace and strength to deal with your enormous loss. With much love,

Jim I am so sorry for you loss I know he was a great man and leaves a scouting legacy behind that few will ever measure up to. I can remember camping with him as an adult leader and how he loved both scouting and the young men and adults he worked with. I feel honored to have been able to camp with him and share scouting stories with him. He is now camping in paradise.
