

Eddie was Born on January 27, 1942, in Pampa, Texas, to Trilby and J.M. Bilderback. Eddie lived a life marked by love, dedication, faith, hard work, and devotion to family. He was known for his larger-than-life personality and his trademarked coveralls. He is remembered for his quick wit, infectious laugh, and unwavering faith that touched the lives of many through his support and friendship.
Eddie graduated from Palo Duro High School, Class of 1960, before proudly serving in the United States Army National Guard, where he attained the rank of Specialist. Throughout his life, he exemplified determination, leadership, and an entrepreneurial spirit. Many fondly knew him by the nickname “Preacher and Reverend Ed" during his years working in transportation for Texaco and TG&Y. He later enjoyed a successful career in the insurance industry. Alongside his professional endeavors, Eddie and his family owned and operated several businesses, including The Swimming Hole and Consolidated Garage Doors of Lubbock, where his children learned the value of hard work and integrity. In retirement, Eddie took great pride in serving his church, volunteering at the American Windmill Museum, and crafting rustic crosses from dried cholla cactus, which he generously shared with family and friends.
Above all, Eddie cherished his family. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose greatest happiness came from spending time with those he loved.
He is survived by his wonderful wife, Connie Bilderback; his children, Edie Williams (James Solum), Eric Bilderback, Elise Brandon (Johnny), Evan Bilderback (Jasmine); his step-children, Daral Wise, (Zhenya), JonAlan Wise, (Chrissle), Stacy Thomas (Donald); grandchildren, Dustin Bilderback (Lesley), Shawn Williams (Caitlin), Willie Vest, Taelor Bilderback, Daniel Bilderback, Anistyn Bilderback; 5 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Trilby and J.M. Bilderback; his siblings Joy, Bob, and Maryon Bilderback; and his beloved wife Loretta Sueanne “Sue” Bilderback.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to his caregiver Marisa Phipps for her compassionate care and support.
Celebration of Life Services
Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing and visitation on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel, where they may gather to offer condolences.
A funeral service celebrating Eddie's life and legacy will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel. Military honors will be rendered at the conclusion of the service in recognition of his faithful service to our country.
Following the service, family and friends are also invited to continue celebrating his life at a reception to be held at the American Windmill Museum. The family welcomes all who knew and loved him to join them for fellowship, refreshments, and the sharing of memories.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Windmill Museum.
Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of love, faith, and family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Eddie's family finds great comfort in knowing he is reunited with loved ones who have gone before him and resting in the presence of his Lord and Savior
