Elwyn H. “Bud” Clark, 99, passed away Monday March 25, 2013 in Lubbock. Bud was born November 6, 1913 in Owatonna, Minnesota to William Joseph and Iva Margaret Postier Clark. The family moved to Plainview when Bud was 6 years old and later to farm in Hale Center. He graduated from Hale Center High School in 1929 at the age of 16. He served in the Calvary in the late 1930’s and in the Army during WWII and was wounded while serving in France. After his discharge in 1945 he went to work for Southwestern Public Service where he worked until his retirement in 1978. Bud married Chloe Jane Little in 1965 in Plainview. He was a member of the Plainview VFW. Bud enjoyed raising horses and was a member of the Appaloosa and Quarter Horse Associations.
Survivors include his wife Chloe Jane Clark of Lubbock; sons, Edward L. Clark of Lorena, TX and Richard Clark of Austin,TX; brother Roger W Clark; sister, Vivian Rogers; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Herbert, and a sister Helen Dressler.
Visitation will be today, March 26, 2013 in Resthaven Funeral Home from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 pm in Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
