Emma Eladia Cespedes, 96, passed away Wednesday December 25, 2013 at her home in Lubbock. She was born February 25, 1917 in Cuba to Rogelio and Lusia Frias. Emma came to the United States July of 1967 and to Lubbock in 1972. She was a beautician and worked for Hemphill Wells, Mr. Toms and The Looking Glass.
Survivors include sons, Rogelio and Celestino both of Miami, daughter Nena Soler of New Orleans and son Carlos of Lubbock; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and son Miguel Luis.
Visitation will be Sunday December 29, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm in the Abbey Chapel of Resthaven Funeral Home. A Mass will be celebrated Monday December 30 at 10:00am in St Elizabeth’s Catholic Church with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
