

She was born in Florence, Arkansas to James Edward Henley and Edith Estell Newton Henley, November 27th, 1921.
After graduating from Saint Francis School of Nursing in Monroe, La she served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army from March 1944 to March 1946. She was a general duty nurse in orthopedics serving at Ft. Sam Houston, Camp Claiborne Louisiana and William Beaumont General Hospital in El Paso where she met and married Ronald Ralph Reynolds February 5, 1946.
She served as an RN and office nurse for Dr. O.R. Hand for 25 years. After Dr. Hand’s retirement she worked as a highly respected RN and Charge Nurse for Methodist Hospital. Each day of her nursing career she wore a starched and pressed white nurses uniform, a perfectly tucked and pinned nurses cap, white stockings and white shoes.
She loved her flowers and family. Christmas Eve and family fish frys belonged to her. Even after being in Texas for over 60 years she still loved her home and family in Arkansas.
She is survived by her brother James Henley and his family, her daughter and son-in-law David and Vicki Shires, her step-daughter and son-in-law James and Glo Odom, her grandchildren, Neysa and Steve Anderson, Audra and Steve Dyer, David and Sophia Shires, Colt Shires, Patti and Rickey Mosser and Pam and Larry Leftwich, 11 great grand children and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years Ralph and her parents.
Memorial services will be held in the Resthaven Chapel Saturday July 28th at 1:00.pm. Visitation will be Friday July 27th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
