In October 27, 1969, he married the Love of his Life Adelina Garcia Garcia, in Lubbock Texas.
Served in the United States Army in the 3rd Battalion, 16th Field Artillery Regiment as an
Non-commissioned officer E-5 Sergeant, he led and taught soldiers during the Vietnam War in
1970 - 1972. He earned 3 Bronze Stars, 6 Vietnam Medals, and 8 USA Medals including Honorable Discharge. Dad was a proud patriot who loved his country and was proud of the opportunity to have served.
Dad also became a diesel technician for City Bus, a tune-up specialist for Sears Automotive. Soon after, he owned and operated two businesses of his own. The Canyon Lake Auto Supply Parts Store, and The Carburetor Specialist (father and son business).
Dad was baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ in 1963, and has forever loved and served, The Lord! He LOVED people and had a huge heart for everyone. His pride and joy was his family and he would do anything for them.
Esequiel served 14 years with the American Legion in Lubbock, Texas, assisting with the 21 gun salute and honorable “going home” ceremonies for veterans. He was also a member of DAV.org. Dad would want his family to know that he loved them very much and would want them to always be the best at everything they do! The love of his life was always and forever will be our momma, Adelina Garcia.
Dad's favorite pastime was fishing, hunting, boat riding, football (The Dallas Cowboys), cooking new innovative recipes of his own, and studying his bible. He was also a coin collector and soap maker.
Esequiel preceded in death by: Both Parents, Daniel and Eva Garcia, brother Daniel Garcia, sister, Gloria Garcia, brother Daniel Garcia Jr.(Borrado), sister Josephine Gallardo, and sister, Ruth Williams.
Esequiel is survived by: his wife of 52 years, Adelina Garcia, son, Esequiel Garcia Jr. and his wife (Jessica Garcia), son Ernesto Garcia, daughter, April Sauceda and her husband, (Noe Sauceda), a brother, Alfredo Garcia, a sister, Eva Flores, and sister, Michelle Vela. 8 grandchildren: Maigen Rose Garcia, Esequiel Garcia III and wife (Alexandra Garcia), Christian James Garcia, Savannah Sauceda Pena and her husband (Tyler Pena), Noe Sauceda Jr. and Jake Ryder Sauceda and 5 great
grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday November 29, 2020 at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel 5740 West 19th St., Lubbock, Texas at 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Celebration of Life will be held on Monday November 30, 2020, at Resthaven Abbey Chapel at 10:00 am, officiated by Pastor Antonio M. Garcia.
