Esther "Mamma" Weeks

Esther Pearl “Mamma” Weeks, of Lubbock, was called home on October 30th following a brief illness. She was 88 years old. Services will be held at 10 am, on Thursday, November 3, 2011, in Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel. Interment will be at 2:30 pm in Dreamland Cemetery, Turkey, TX.

Esther was born on March 30, 1923 in Waxhachie, TX to John E and Dena Couch, moving to Turkey where she lived for the next 30 years. She married Claude E, Weeks on June 25, 1944 in Enid, Oklahoma. She was formerly employed with Plains Cotton copoerative Assoc. and Devro. She was a member of the Church of Christ, was an avid Bingo player, and had been a resident of Lubbock since 1956.

Esther was preceded in death by a daughter, Claudette, and her husband.

Survivors include three daughters, Wanda and husband Stanley Wiley, and Fran Kollman, all of Lubbock, Gwen and husband Buddy Terry of Corpus Christi; four grandchildren, Janice Scroggins, Catherine Tinkler, John Wiley and Chad Wilkins; and 5 great grandchildren, Alexis and Austin Fuller, Mikaela Scroggins, Jill and Evelyn Pearl Wiley, and Blaire Wilkins.
