A precious lady joined the blessed of Heaven on Saturday, December 20, 2014. Marie Taylor was born to the late Bart and Jenny Slack on February 2, 1927 in Honey Grove, Texas. She married the love of her life, Joe Earl Taylor on September 15, 1945. They had 2 children Joe Allen and Donna Marie. Loving her family second only to her Lord, she was Momma, Granny, Gran Gran and Aunt Ree. She was a loving sister and faithful friend.
She was preceded into Heaven by her husband Joe, son-in-law James Bates, two sisters and one brother.
She will be so greatly missed by those left to cherish her memory; Joe and Daryl Taylor, Joseph and Stefany Taylor with Kieran and Cameryn Green, and Jamieson Taylor all of Austin; Donna Bates of Lubbock, Justin and Jenna Thomas with Ellie and Colby of Midland; one sister Dava Jo Simmons of Lubbock; many nieces and nephews and scores of loving friends.

Visitation will be Monday, December 22, 2014, 6-8pm at the Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 23, 2014, 10 am in the Abbey Chapel at Resthaven Funeral Home & Memorial Park.
