

While attending Texas Tech University, she met the love of her life, Richard "Dick" Walker, who was a solder training at Texas Tech. They married in May of 1944, and spent 42 beautiful years together until his passing. After the war they lived in Lock Haven while he attended Lock Haven State Teachers College. They moved back to Lubbock with a daughter and son.
June and Dick moved to Ransom Canyon in 1969 where they made lasting friends. June was devoted to her community and was part of the the Volunteer Fire Department - she rode on the fire engine and her family recalls that they purchased the smallest fire boots they could find and she still had to wear her own shoes to make them fit! June was an integral part of the construction and founding of the chapel in Ransom Canyon - following its completion she served at the Chapel Treasurer for 10 years. She enjoyed playing Bunco and Train with friends and was an avid needle painter.
She leaves behind her children; Sharon Jobe (Ronny), of Houston, Texas and Richard "Rick" Walker. Her legacy lives on through her 3 grandsons, 3 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren..
Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home & Cemetery, 5740 West 19th Street, Lubbock, TX 79407, US, on June 10, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
A graveside service will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home & Cemetery, 5740 West 19th Street, Lubbock, TX 79407, US, on June 11, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
