

Eustacio “Santos” Hernandez, age 92, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026, surrounded by the love and prayers of his family. Born on March 29, 1934, in San Antonio, Texas, Santos was the beloved son of Francisco and Nicolasa Hernandez.
Santos lived a life defined by faith, service, hard work, and generosity. To know him was to know a man who never hesitated to lend a helping hand. Whether family, friend, or stranger, Santos was always there when someone needed support, encouragement, or guidance. His quiet strength, warm heart, and selfless nature left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Family meant everything to Santos. He grew up alongside his seven siblings: Maximino, Juanita Hernandez Garcia, Manuel, Alex, Santiago “Tico,” Pete, and Concepcion “Connie” Hernandez Ibarra. The bonds he shared with his brothers and sisters remained an important part of his life and helped shape the loyal and caring man he became. He treasured time spent with his family and maintained close relationships with his many nieces and nephews, all of whom brought him tremendous joy and pride throughout the years.
Santos proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958. His military service reflected the same values he carried throughout his entire life—dedication, discipline, honor, and humility. He was deeply proud to be a veteran and carried that sense of duty with him long after his years of service ended.
Known affectionately as “Santos” to family and friends, he was a faithful man whose generosity knew no limits. He believed strongly in helping others, giving what he could, and treating people with kindness and respect. His wisdom, steady presence, and unwavering love made him a source of comfort and strength to those around him. He leaves behind a legacy rooted in compassion, faith, and family devotion.
He is survived by his loving siblings Pete Hernandez and Concepcion “Connie” Hernandez; his beloved nephew Robert Hernandez; as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will continue to honor and remember his life.
Santos was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Nicolasa Hernandez, and by his beloved siblings Maximino Hernandez, Manuel Hernandez, Alex Hernandez, Santiago “Tico” Hernandez and Juanita Hernandez.
Visitation for Santos will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel.
A Celebration of Life service will take place on Monday, June 2, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel.
Graveside services with military honors will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2026, at West Texas Veteran Cemetery in Lubbock, Texas.
Though his family grieves the loss of a beloved brother, uncle, veteran, and friend, they find comfort in the countless memories he leaves behind and in the example of love and generosity he showed every day of his life. Santos will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
