Freda Green

Freda Green, 78, of Lubbock passed away peacefully August 21 surrounded by her family. She was born Margaret Alfreda West on December 22, 1935 in Clarksville, Red River County, TX to Bertie Lee Gilbert and William Joe West. She grew up in Plainview and moved to Lubbock in the late 1970s. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother . She spent her later working years at Covenant Hospital, where she was admired as a dedicated employee and was loved by “her” patients. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, and 4 sisters. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Daniel Green and his wife Helen of Lubbock, Judy Green Lujan of Plainview, Crystal Kahlich and her husband Jimmy of Slaton, Carla Shinn and husband Mike of Lubbock, Carola Vaughn and partner Ace Goodman of Wilson; 16 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Sunday, August 24, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 25, 2014 in the Abbey Chapel of Resthaven Funeral Home with interment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
