He and his wife set a Godly example for all the church on how to have a long and happy marriage. He was a member of the BSF Bible study. Gene and Jan also enjoyed their retirement by travelling to all 50 states and stopping at every historical spot that Jan requested.
He is survived by his wife Jan, whom he married in Abilene on June 14, 1957. He is also survived by his daughter and dear son-in-law Gena and Michael Garcia, where he is blessed that Mike’s two children (Michael Esiah and Nicole) and three grandchildren joined the family. He is pre-deceased by his son Ronald David Williamson (who had one daughter, Sarah Gene), his sisters Bess Washburn and Ruthie, his brother John, his parents Vaughn and Gertrude, and Walt and Dorothy (all Williamsons).
