It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jansco Crouch. On May 23, 2026, Jansco passed from this earth at the age of 84. He was born on July 12, 1941, in Cash, Texas, to Nelson and Doris Crouch.
On February 6, 1960, Jansco married the love of his life, Sue Mitchell. They shared 62 wonderful years together until Sue’s passing on August 5, 2022. Together they built a loving family and raised three children — Sonya, Jeff, and Kathy — in Lubbock. Sonya and her wife, Lara, reside in Bonney Lake, Washington. Jeff and his wife, Traci, are in Bastrop, Texas. Kathy and her husband, Brad, live in Lubbock and blessed Jansco and Sue with two grandchildren, Taylor and Tori.
Jansco loved life and enjoyed every minute of his 84 years. For more than 65 of those years, he worked as an electrician. He never retired because he truly enjoyed what he did. Jansco was an icon in the electric motor repair business because he liked solving problems and mentoring those who were interested in learning. His co-workers and customers were family to Jansco, and he liked “fixing” things for them. It was said that at any time – day or night - Jansco would answer the phone or get in his truck and head out to help a co-worker – and sometimes even a competitor – solve an electrical issue if it meant a farmer or a gin could get back up and running.
When Jansco wasn’t working, he loved to fish and was always searching for the perfect fishing spot. He enjoyed the peace of the water, the excitement of the catch, and, most of all, the time spent with friends and family.
Jansco left us suddenly, and we are unprepared to let him go so quickly. There were so many things he still wanted to do. Over the last four years, Jansco lived life to the fullest and had so much fun spending time out on the water with loved ones, even when the fish were not biting or he had to argue about whether that fish really should be thrown back.
Above all, Jansco had a big heart and loved helping others. He was the kind of man people could depend on – always willing to lend a hand, share his knowledge, or help someone in need. All who knew Jansco will remember his kindness and generosity, his strong work ethic, his sense of humor, and the love he had for his family and friends. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A graveside service honoring Jansco will be held on June 4, 2026, at 10:00 am at Resthaven in Lubbock, Texas
