Gerald Waldo Harris, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle passed peacefully into the arms of his Lord and savior on September 24, 2021 with his daughter by his side. He was born to Lilly Lee Brock and George Washington Harris in Brownfield County on November 19, 1926. He married Imogene Webster on July 18, 1954 in Lubbock Texas. They were lifelong members of First Baptist Church where he humbly served as a deacon. Gerald loved his Lord Jesus, his family and his church family. Gerald retired from Furr’s Supermarket after 50 years of dedicated service. He was a beloved store manager for most of those years and developed lifelong friendships with customers and employees.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter Melanie and husband Mike Martin of St Thomas USVI; five grandchildren, Ryan Martin, Reed Martin, Riley Martin, Leah Edwards and Jeff Nutter; two great-grandchildren, Kianna and CateLynn Edwards; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Imogene, his daughter Camille Nutter and 12 brothers and sisters.
