He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Esteban Rositas and Francisca Garcia, whose love and guidance helped shape the man he became. He was also preceded in death by his dear siblings Celia Wright, Oscar Rositas, Frank Rositas and Amelia Mary Morris, whom he loved deeply.
Gilbert is remembered by his former wife, Anita Rositas, the devoted mother of his children with whom he shared many years together. Though their paths eventually changed, the bond created through their children remained an important part of his story.
Gilbert was a man who lived much of his life in quiet distance, yet left traces of himself through things he built, painted and loved. He was a gifted painter and skilled carpenter who took pride in working with his hands. Whether restoring a home, building something from scratch or adding beauty through paint and craftsmanship, he poured care and dedication into everything he created. His work was more than a trade - it was an expression of who he was. Outside of work, he found his greatest peace on the water with a fishing pole in hand. Fishing was not just a hobby to him; it was where he felt most connected to nature, to reflection, and to the simple joys of life. Some of the fondest memories shared by family and friends were made during the early morning by the lake, telling stories and enjoying the calm companionship he brought at times.
He is survived by his children Luis Raul Gomez, Joseph Ray Rositas, Lisa Rositas Zemanski, and his sister Gloria Bryson. He has 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
