Gladys Stice Franks

Gladys Stice Franks 99, of Lubbock, formerly of Brownfield, died Saturday, February 22, 2025, in Lubbock.

She was born January 1, 1926, in Lubbock Texas to Gus and Hilda Grawunder. She grew up in the Posey Community, and the family moved to Dawson County. She graduated from Brownfield High School in 1943. On July 23, 1944, she married Bonard Stice in Meadow, Texas. They farmed in Terry County until his death on October 17, 2007. On May 5, 2009, she married Rufus Franks. He died January 15, 2013. She moved to Lubbock, Texas in July 2014.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, parents, brothers; Milton, Coleman, Gilbert, Leroy, Kenneth, and sisters; Leona Phipps, Alice Stansell and Agnes Brown, son in laws; Gary Beyer and David Auburg, and grandson in law; Randy Wood.

Gladys is survived by her three children, son Harry Stice of Kerrville, Tx., daughters Janice Auburg and Sandra Beyer of Brownfield, Tx., grandchildren Lance Auburg and wife Cenny of Frisco, Tx., and Angela Carr and husband Matt of Lubbock, Tx. Great grandchildren Austin and Anderson Auburg of Frisco, Gracie and Allie Wood of Lubbock, Mason Carr of Lubbock and Lauren Carr of Lookout Mountain, Georgia. Extended Family Darrel Franks of Midland, Tx. And Sheryl Posey of Corpus Christi, Tx. and extended family.

Celebration of Life services will be held at 2 pm, Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel with Rev. Ruby Moultrie officiating.
