Glenda Janette Cowan, 72, passed away May 8, 2013 at her home in Lubbock. She was born September 29, 1940 in Lubbock to Lamar and Mildred Williams. Janette attended Lubbock High School. She married C.L. Cowan March 21, 1958 in St John’s Methodist Church, Lubbock.
Janette worked 43 seasons for the USDA Cotton Division as a Classing Supervisor. She enjoyed her children and grandchildren and had a great passion for gardening at her home.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, C.L.; children, Sherry Sewell of Austin, Scott Cowan, Brett Cowan and his wife Janice all of Lubbock; grandchildren, Evan, Bailee, Jaeden, and Makenna; great-grandson, Silas; sister, Barbara Clayton of Steger, Illinois; brother, Wayne Rasmussen and his wife Martha of Slaton.
Visitation will be tonight, May 9, 2013 from 5 to 7 pm in Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday, May 10 at 1:00 pm in Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions may be made to the Hospice of Lubbock.
