She was one of 9 siblings. Preceding her death were: Margaret Rogers, Johnny Key, Della Martin, Claude Key and Norma Lucille Key. Survived by Mae (Don) Hargrove of Dimmitt, TX, Donald (Vicky) Key and Mickey (Wilma) Key both of Lubbock.
She married, the love of her life, Les Goodson June 14, 1943. He preceded her in death in 1978.
She had four children: Dwain Goodson (Linda), Becky, Gail Eubanks (Kenny), and Susan. Becky died as an infant, Susan died in 2016 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. She had 7 grandchildren: Tammy Long, Geron Jeffcoat, Leslie Dwain Goodson, Leslie Baron Eubanks, Kimberly Eubanks Greene, Alicia Jernigan, and Amy Henson; 15 Great-grandchildren: Aaron Goodson, Tara Van Strien, Hiro Goodson, Taiga Goodson, Lauren Eubanks, Aiden Eubanks, Madison Blankenship, Meagan Blankenship, Ashton Sehen, Jude Greene, Caiah Greene, Trista Tillman, Alyssa Mattheus, Megan Rosas and Dakota Henson; and 9 Great-great-grandchildren.
She was raised during the depression and knew what work was. She was a homemaker first and foremost. When she got up in the morning she put on her apron, that was her “uniform”. She could make a meal out of most anything. She loved cooking and cleaning and tending to her family. She raised her children, took in some of her younger siblings to raise and then helped her children raise their children while their parents worked. She loved them all with an unconditional love but was not afraid to discipline them if needed.
She loved playing games of any kind especially 42 and was a formidable opponent. She did not believe in idleness and kept her hands busy. She made crafts, worked in the yard and in later years took up “adult coloring”.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Wedgewood South and Direct Hospice for the loving tender care given to our loved one.
We all love her and will miss her greatly but we know where she is!
