Harry Lee Jones

Harry passed from this life Friday, October 14, 2011 in Lubbock.

Harry was born October 4, 1928 in Walters, Oklahoma to the late Charles Frederick and Edna Mae (Lemme) Jones. He graduated from Sugden High School, Sugden, Oklahoma and then served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. Harry moved to Lubbock in 1941 and on June 12, 1953 he married the love of his life, Karola Schierstein. He was employed as a sheet metal mechanic for Armstrong Mechanical from 1949 to 1963. He was then employed at Amarillo Hardware from 1963 to 1965 when he became co owner ( ownership in 1980) of Ideal Heating and Air Conditioning which he operated until his retirement in 1997.

Harry was preceded in death by a sister, Elnorah Roberts, and a daughter, Dorothy Elaine Baker.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are: loving wife, Karola. Daughter Valerie Hlavaty and husband Doug, Loucille Battig and husband Doug, Son: Roy David Jones and wife Annette. Brother: Charles “Charlie” F Jones, Jr, eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Highland Baptist Church Lubbock, Texas.
