Hector Gardea, 73, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2015. He was born on March 11, 1941 in El Paso, TX and resided in Lubbock, TX for 45 years. He is survived by his wife, Yolanda Gardea; and children, Hector Gardea, Jr., Teresa Gardea, Michelle Gardea, Nancy Gardea, and Rachel Gardea; 19 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Hector served honorably in the United States Army and retired from Eagle Picher after 30+ years. He enjoyed his carpentry, playing pool, and was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with the reciting of the Rosary to follow on Sunday, March 8, 2015 in the Abbey Chapel of Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 9, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Hector will be laid to rest in Resthaven Memorial Park.
