Our beloved Mother and Grandmother passed peacefully April 4, 2026. She was born January 1, 1940 in Portsmouth Ohio. She devoted her life to others. She worked as a Special Education Teacher, with the Boy Scouts of America, American Red Cross, she ran a group home for disabled individuals, she ran a private care home for the elderly, owned and operated child care centers as well as from her own home while raising her own small children,
She worked in child care through her Church and retired from BDDS with the State of Indiana. Her love for knowledge and education was displayed through her many years of education at Texas Tech University, where she earned her degree. She had a true love for Human Sciences. She almost never met a stranger and was the "grandma" of the neighborhoods in which she resided. She truly enjoyed not only helping children and their families, but she enjoyed being a part of their lives and watching them be successful. Even during the winter of last year, she was still knitting scarves and hats for children to have during the winter months.
Her greatest accomplishments were watching her 2 children grow and flourish throughout the years and she absolutely cherished being a grandma to her 6 grandchildren.
Her footprint on this earth has been huge and one that will be hard to replace. She was loved, honored and respected by so many. She has shown this earth what compassion truly means.
She is survived by her son, Jason Coldiron (Diana) and daughter, Ashley Wright. Her 6 beautiful grandchildren. Nikolaus Coldiron, Morgan England (Ian), Mikayla Tedrow (Jakob), Madison Wright, Dylan Coldiron and Vivienne Coldiron. As well as 1 step great granddaughter, Kassandra West. Along with many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo Edwin Johnson and Cynthia Marcella Horsley Johnson. 2 brothers, James E. Johnson (Carolyn Childress) and Thomas L. Johnson. And infant grandson, Matthew Tedrow. Her final resting place will be at Woods Chapel United Methodist Cemetery in Ramsey Indiana along side her parents. Our Mother and Grandmother will be eternally loved and missed. Until we see you again, your Angel Wings will always wrap us in your love.
