

Horace Thomas Edwards, 91, resident of Cedar Park, Texas, passed away May 17, 2015, in Gerogetown, Texas. He was born June 12, 1923, in Slaton, Texas, to Ray and Sue Edwards. He lived in the Texas panhandle and eastern New Mexico before his family moved to Muleshoe to start Edwards Gin Co. He began school at Tarlton State University after graduating from Muleshoe High School. After returning from World War II where he served in the Army Air Corp, he married his true love, Theresa June Pierson on February 7, 1947.
While in Muleshoe, he was Club President and Zone Chairman for Lions Club International and served on the School Board. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Muleshoe from the 1930’s to 1972 and a member of St. Lukes United Methodist Church in Lubbock from 1972 to 2008. He taught Sunday school in both churches.
He started the International Pump Sales for Hydraulic Pump Company in Lubbock and traveled throughout the middle east in the 1970’s.
He loved woodworking and after retirement, he spent a great deal of time in his workshop. Pen making became his specialty
One of his highlights after moving to Cedar Park was going on the Honor Flight for World War II Veterans living in the Austin area.
Survivors include his sons, Gary Edwards and wife Terri of Kerrville, TX and Mark Edwards and wife Marian of Gerogetown, TX; grandchildren, Whitney Edwards of Lubbock, Jeremy Edwards and wife Tammy of Frisco,TX, and Molly Edwards of Round Rock, TX; great-grandchildren Connor, Payton, Grayson and Crosby. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister, Evangeline Edwards, and a great-grandson, Wyatt Andrew.
