

Born May 26, 1930, in Stroud, OK, to Charles Ernest and Cannie (Kilgore) Wallis, he was one of 11 children. He resided in Oklahoma, California, Arizona, and Texas during his youth. Mr. Wallis enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War, receiving the Bronze Star for his service. He married Grace (Reese) Wallis on August 14, 1953, in Vernon, TX. The couple resided in Lubbock for 63 years until her death in 2023.
Mr. Wallis was employed by Waples Platter/Fleming Foods from 1952 until his retirement on June 1, 1995, following 43 years of service. He managed the company’s trucking fleet at the time of his retirement, After his retirement the couple made several yearly trips to Las Vegas.
Bud was a man who was never still and could always be found working on his home or in the yard. He Loved his family more than anything in the world and then in turn he was Loved immensely by his Children their Spouses, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Grace (Reese) Wallis; his son, Howard Lynn Wallis; his daughter, Donna Schwitters; and his son-in-law, Shad Campbell.
Survivors include his daughters, Beth Gagne and husband Gary, and Tracie Wallis; daughter-in-law, Patti Wallis; son-in-law, Jan Schwitters; Four grandchildren: Danya Cheek and husband Thomas, Jamie Auer and husband Barry, Matthew Gagne and wife Tara, Dustin Wallis and wife McKenzie; and six great-grandchildren: Dayden Cheek, Caitlyn and Grayson Auer, Izzy and Rowan Caffery, and Gwen Wallis.
A funeral service for Bud will be held June 8th at 1pm at Resthaven Funeral Home and Cemetery, 57 West 19th St, Lubbock, TX 79407
