

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ignacio “Nacho” Luna, a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend, who departed this life on October 6, 2025, at the age of 52. Ignacio was born on September 6, 1973, in Hondo, Texas, and he spent his life serving and supporting those around him.
He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, he received the Southwest Asia Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Expert Marksmanship Badge Grenade Medal and Marksmanship Badge Rifle M-16. His commitment to service extended beyond his military career into his role as Deputy Assistant Federal Security Director of Screening. Ignacio was known for his unwavering work ethic and his ability to always remain busy, embodying the values of hard work and dedication in all aspects of his life.
Known for his family-oriented nature, Ignacio cherished every moment spent with his loved ones, fostering strong bonds and creating lasting memories. He was also an exceptional husband, father, grandfather, brother, cousin and friend, known for his kindness and generosity. His favorite past time was his Dallas Cowboys and Texas Tech Family.
Funeral services will commence with a Rosary service at Lake Ridge Chapel on October 10, 2025, at 6:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lubbock on October 11, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM. Following the service, graveside ceremonies will take place at Lockney Cemetery, where friends and family will gather to pay their final respects.
In this time of mourning, we extend our heartfelt condolences to all who knew Ignacio Luna. His spirit and memory will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
Ignacio is survived by his wife Ismelda Luna, his sons Ernesto Luna, Christopher Luna, Marcos Luna (Sara), two grand-daughters Emilia and Dolores Luna. His father Avaristo Luna, his siblings Israel Guerra (Kerry), Teresa Emsoff (Nick), Soyla Reyna, Abel Luna, and Esmeralda Sanchez (David), Aunts, Uncles and numerous cousins.
Ignacio was preceded in death by his mother Alicia Luna, His grandparents Jesus B. Luna, Dolores Flores Luna.
