James D Varner

Celebration of life services for James J.D. Varner will be held at 10 am, Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. A visitation will be held July 2, 2019 from 5:30 to 7 pm at Resthaven Funeral Home. J.D. passed from this life on Wednesday, June 26, 2019.

He was born May 14, 1938 in San Antonio, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents Edgar and Juanita Varner and his first wife, Opal in 2001. He was in the truck driving industry all his life and retired in 2004 after 27 years of service from Furr’s Cafeteria. He married Linda Parnell Sept 24, 2005 in Lubbock Texas.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Linda, and their three fur babies Daisy, Chloe & Manzie; son Shannon and husband Geoffrey, of Odessa; daughter Denice and husband Monty; and son Eddie, all of Lubbock; stepchildren, Vicki and husband Russell; Cindy husband Tony; Terrell and wife Sheila, all of Lubbock, 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
