Jaunez Wills Cheek of Phoenix, Arizona passed away on Jan. 14, 2016 at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born in Abbott, Texas to Tom and Ina Wills on May 11, 1937. She graduated from Sudan High School in 1955, and was married to Donald Joe Cheek on June 9, 1956 in Lubbock, Texas.
Jaunez retired from South Plains College in 2000 after working there for 18 years, lastly as the Administrative Assistant to the Dean of the Lubbock Campus.
She was a member of Trinity Church in Lubbock.
She is survived by her husband Donald; son Steven Cheek and wife Daveen of Houston, TX; son Randy Cheek and wife Kathy of Murphy, TX; daughter Karen Cheek of Phoenix, AZ; five grandchildren, Kelly Cheek, Brandon Cheek, Stephanie Cheek, Amy Cheek and Mary Cheek; two great-grandchildren; brother Ronnie Wills and wife Gloria of Lubbock, TX; sister Linda Knowlton and husband Douglas of Richland Hills, TX; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service, to be officiated by Pastor David Savage of Trinity Church, will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home in Lubbock, TX at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016 with graveside service to follow.
