Jay Hamilton Morrow was born in Lubbock, Texas on April 3, 1948 to Homer and Yvonne Morrow. He joined his father, Homer, and brother, Scotty, with the Lord on July 2, 2014.Faith played a large role in his life.
A member of Metropolitan Community Church of Lubbock for more than twenty years, he played piano for the services. He preached a sermon at the church in 2007, demonstrating the good that a generous spirit can do in the world, although the sermon changed while he was speaking, similar to the way he would occasionally change keys or songs the middle.
A talented musician, he played piano as well as many other instruments with a flair that added more to the music than the simple notes on the page. His many interests varied and he dove into each new experience with a sense of glee and good humor that inspired others to try new things. He valued his many friends, always willing to help where needed and always ready with a funny story or comment that brought smiles. His dog Casper was fully convinced Jay was his human and they had many years as buddies together.
Jay is survived by his mother, Yvonne Morrow, John Heagy friend and companion , his brother Leslie and his wife Lupe, sister Karinne and her husband Sam Truelock all of Lubbock, sister--in-law Becky Morrow of Houston, nieces Angela, Heather, Rachel, Monica, and Holly, and one nephew Nick, as well as three great-nieces and two great-nephews.
