Graveside services for Jeanette McKay, 65, of Lubbock will be held at 2 pm Friday, April 12, 2019 at Resthaven Memorial Park with Rev. Fred Smith officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 6-8 PM, Thursday, April 11, 2019 at Resthaven Funeral Home.

Jeanette passed from this life Monday, April, 8, 2019. She was born in 1954 in Tula, Texas to the late Gorden and Shirley Schooler. She married the love of her life, Andrew J. McKay, Dec 20, 1971 in Lubbock.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Andrew J. McKay; sons, Andrew McKay and wife Cecelia, Micheal McKay and wife, Angie, Thomas McKay and wife, Letty; grandchildren, Stephanie Barnes, Jessica McKay, Sydney McKay, Kylie McKay, Marley McKay, Matthew McKay, Charles McKay and Brenden McKay; great-grandchildren Sophia, Shannon and James Barnes.

Andy, we are so very sorry about your precious Jeanette, and wish that we could have made the trip. I remember when you guys got married, and the first time you brought her to Campbell to meet us. You both seemed so young. I still hope to bring Mom to see you one day. I love you and so does Mom. Please give my condolences to your kids, and the rest of your family. Love, Scarlet

Biography

Jeanette McKay was known as many things to many people. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Jeanette will be remembered as a very exceptional person.

       She was born on February 27, 1954 in Tulia, Texas and was the daughter of Gorden and Shirley Schooler.

      On December 20, 1971 Jeanette exchanged wedding vows with Andrew J. McKay in Lubbock, Texas. Empathic and loyal, Jeanette was committed to making her new family happy.  Jeanette worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs. Jeanette was blessed with three sons, Andrew, Michael and Thomas. Another blessing for Jeanette was the gift of eight grandchildren, Stephanie, Jessica, Sydney, Kylie, Marley, Matthew, Charles and Brenden.

      Fortunately, Jeanette enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Jeanette worked diligently and did her best to succeed in her career. Her primary occupation was medical. She was employed as a Certified Nurse Aide. Jeanette always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.

      Jeanette passed away on April 8, 2019 at her residence in Lubbock, Texas. She is survived by her loving husband, Andrew J. McKay; sons, Andrew McKay and wife Cecelia, Micheal McKay and wife, Angie, Thomas McKay and wife, Letty; grandchildren, Stephanie Barnes, Jessica McKay, Sydney McKay, Kylie McKay, Marley McKay, Matthew McKay, Charles McKay and Brenden McKay; great-grandchildren Sophia, Shannon and James Barnes. Graveside services were held at Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock, Texas.

      Simply stated, Jeanette was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Jeanette leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Jeanette McKay.
