Jerry was born March 12,1938 in Newlin,TX to Romie and Dela Murphy. He married Linda Altman on May 17,1959 and they moved to Lubbock in 1961.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Linda; three daughters, Sharon Ware and husband Wayne of Shallowater, Judy Prichard of Austin, and Sheila O’Quin and husband Mike of Snyder; grandchildren, Kimberly and husband Mark, Kory and wife Claire, Kyle and wife Courtney, Sara and husband Don, Chandler, Emma, Brooklyn, and Taylor; great-grandchildren Brylee, Weston, Aislyn and Gibson; sisters, Monia Coble, Willie Matney and Ella Daniel; brothers, Darrell Ray Murphy and Norman Murphy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother R.J. and sister Pauline Lambert.
Visitation will be held Sunday December 30 from 6 to 8 pm in Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 31 at 11:00am in South Plains Church of Christ. Interment will be private.
