Mrs. Jessie Lee Smith “Aunt Jessie,” 84, of Lubbock, passed away on December 18, 2010. A special Christmas Celebration of Aunt Jessie’s life will take place on Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at 1:00 PM in the Abbey Chapel at Resthaven Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 7:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Smith was born October 11, 1926 to parents Rosie May (Keys) and Robert Austin Hughes. She worked as a bookkeeper for Hayden Signs for 25 years before her retirement.
Survivors include a brother, Robert Earl (Nancy) Hughes of Marble Falls, TX; a sister, Betty Ethylene Parks from New Jersey; numerous nieces and nephews including her special caregivers, Ronnie Hughes, Robbie Pearson, Tanya Crump, and Teri Qualls.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother; three sisters; and by her husband, Earl Nick Smith, who passed away in February of 1996.
