Born to Jimmie and Ethel Frye, Jim lived a life defined by integrity, steadfast service, and deep devotion to those he loved. He married his devoted wife, Peggy (Miller) Frye, with whom he shared 62 wonderful years filled with laughter, cherished memories, and countless trips to the mountains.
Jim spent much of his career with Sears, Roebuck & Co., where coworkers and customers alike came to know him for his strong work ethic and sense of humor. His professional life was marked not only by reliability and dedication, but also by the friendly presence that made a lasting impression on everyone he met.
At home, Jim was a true car guy—no one kept a car more immaculate than him. While he had a deep passion for automobiles, Jim’s greatest love was always his family. He is lovingly survived by his wife Peggy; daughter Kristi Stewart and her husband Casey; his grandchildren, Kelsey Stewart-Bishop and her husband Caleb; Cody Stewart and his fiancé Suzie Knuppel; his sister Marsha Reeves and her husband Jimmy; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie and Ethel Frye, and his brother, Mike Frye.
Jim will be remembered not only for what he did, but for who he was. His sense of humor and playful antics touched everyone around him—he truly was one of a kind. His love for his family was unwavering, and though he has passed from our sight, his memory lives on through the many lives he touched.
A celebration of life will be held at LakeRidge Methodist Church on November 21, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., where friends and family will gather to honor Jim’s memory.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to LakeRidge Methodist Church, The American Lung Association, or a charity of your choice.
