J.L. was born on May 4, 1955, in Muleshoe, Texas, to John Leonard Anderson Sr. and TaWannah Anderson. He attended Roosevelt High School and graduated with the Class of 1973. He later went on to obtain his diesel mechanic certification from Lubbock Christian University.
J.L. dedicated his life to his trade, building a long and respected career as a diesel mechanic. He was the owner and operator of J.L. Anderson Truck Repair, where he was known for his strong work ethic, and mechanical skills
In 1993, J.L. married Debbie Cook Anderson, with whom he shared many years of love, faith, and companionship. He was a proud and devoted member of Genesis Baptist Fellowship, where he faithfully served as a long-time leader and deacon.
J.L. had a deep passion for fishing and treasured time spent outdoors. He will always be remembered for his generosity, his willingness to help others, and the kindness he freely gave to everyone he met.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Leonard Anderson Sr. and Twannah Anderson.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Debbie Anderson; siblings Glynda Cirano, Lee L. Anderson, and Karen Elliott; his daughter Melissa Gail Davis and husband Adrian Davis; stepdaughter Brandi Bartlett; and stepson Donny Putman and wife Kristin Putman.
He is also survived by his grandchildren Brooke Wilson and husband Kyler Wilson, Brittany Bartlett, Alyssa Putman, Avery Putman, Madilynn Davis, and Addison Putman. J.L. was also deeply loved by many nieces and nephews.
