She was born in Paris ,Texas to RW and Ruth Childers. She has one brother, Dr. James Childers.
Jo was a loving mom and Mimaw to all of her family. She loved flowers, birds, caring for all of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved being a long time member of Oakwood Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Dale, of 62 years, her children Tonya (Tal) English, Shane (Eddie) Edler, her grandchildren Denae (Daniel) Young and their daughter Brenley, Elizabeth (Alex) Sanchez and their children Jordan and Skylar, and many friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her son Monty.
The family will be having a Celebration of Life service Friday August 29th at 2:00 P.M. at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel, with a graveside committal to follow. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Hospice of Lubbock .
