

John Clifton Ream went to be with his Lord on September 21, 2013 at the age of 89. He was born June 5, 1924, in Archer City, Texas to Charles and Ruth (Taylor) Ream. After graduation from high school, John was drafted into the Army and was deployed to Europe during WWII in Company G, 291st Regiment of the 75th Infantry Division. He served as a mortar gunner in the Battle of the Bulge, in France, Holland and Germany
Following the war, john married Loveta Gillit on April 14, 1947; they were married for 66 years. He was a farmer in the Ropesville area before becoming the care taker at Camp Rip Blanco in Crosbyton, Texas. After 5 years, he moved back to Ropes and began working for Ropes ISD as bus foreman and maintenance until retirement. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, painting, and spending time with his family. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church of Clauene.
John is survived by his wife; daughters, Janet Pollet of Ropesville, Marcia and Tommy Powe of Shallowater, Pan and Jay Talley of Ransom Canyon, and Monica and Alan Berry of Hale Center; 15 grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by a son-in-law Harry Pollet; a grandson, Casey Powe and great-granddaughter, Kimberly Pollet.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 25 at Resthaven Funeral Home from 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 26 at 10am, at Ropesville First Baptist Church with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park with Reverend Ken Horn officiating.
