Johnnie Elizabeth O'Guinn

Johnnie Elizabeth O’Guinn, 84, of Carrollton, Texas passed away August 28, 2015 after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s. Johnnie was born in Spur, Texas, on March 7, 1931. Her parents were Curtis Crump (C.C.) and Gladys Irene Jones Childress. She grew up in Spur where she met the love of her life, George J. O’Guinn. They married August 29, 1947, and moved to Lubbock in 1949. They had two sons, Jimmie Wayne and Eddie Royce.

She was a stay at home mom and enjoyed scouting, Little League, camping and the school activities. Later she had a career in the quality control area of TI. Before moving to Carrollton, she was a member of South Plains Church of Christ in Lubbock . After moving to Carrollton, she was a member of Lewisville Church of Christ, Lewisville, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents C.C. and Gladys Childress and husband George J. O’Guinn. She is survived by son Jimmie and (spouse) Sherril of Carrollton, Texas and son Eddie and (spouse) Donna of Lubbock Texas; 6 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Imogene Harrison of Lubbock; 1 brother, Don Childress of Clyde, Texas; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
