

It is with a heavy heart that the family of Josephine “Chepa” Lovato announce her peaceful passing on Monday, September 22, 2014 at the age of 89. Our beloved mother was born in Hondo, TX on March 19, 1925. She was predeceased by her husband Carlos Lovato, Sr.; son, Johnny Raymond Esquierdo; son Edward Lovato; step daughter, Viola Flores; 3 brothers; and 1 sister. She had a passion for family and friends, word puzzles, cards and watching Texas Rangers. She loved to travel with her children. She served as Chaplain/Secretary for VFW local 2466. She will be lovingly remembered by all her children and family. She leaves many beautiful memories to her surviving children; Christine Carter (Rayford), Carlos Lovato Jr., Armando Lovato (Janie), Jimmy Lovato, Patrick Lovato (Susan), Patricia Lovato (Bobby); 14 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren. A visitation will be held Friday, September 26, 2014 from 5-7 pm at Resthaven Funeral Home with recitation of the Rosary at 7 pm. Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Pallbearers will be Pat Lovato, Anthony Perez, Armando Lovato Jr., Jimmy Lovato, Anthony Baldazo, Frank M. Baldazo, and Bobby Casanova. Honorary Pallbearers will be Janie Lovato, Susan Lovato, Rayford Carter, Joseph Lovato, Steven Lovato, Johnny Esquierdo Jr., and Samantha Lovato The family wishes to thank all family and friends for their thoughts and prayers.
