

Memorial service for Joyce LaNell Jackson, 67, will be held at 10:00am on Friday March 16, 2012 at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel with Dr. Stan Bevins officiating. She passed away on Friday, March 9th after a lengthy illness. Joyce was born on September 18, 1944 in Lubbock to Mason and Louise Kester. She was a graduate of Lubbock High School and attended Texas Tech University. She was married to John N. Jackson of Lubbock on September 9, 1978. She was preceded in death by both of her parents and her husband, John.
She is survived by two sons, J. Brent Jackson and wife, Chera, of Dallas and Coby Cathey of Plano. She was blessed by three grandchildren, Cole, Jake and Peyton Jackson of Dallas. She is also survived by a brother, Paul Kester and wife, Judy of Lubbock and a sister, Sue Kester of Lubbock. Joyce owned her own denim clothing company called Cotton Rags in the 1980s and also worked for TNM&O Bus Lines and Checker Auto Parts. She enjoyed many arts & crafts activities especially painting, knitting & crocheting and sewing as well as cooking.
She was active in her high school reunion group planning each reunion for her class since 1982. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of UMC Lubbock, Texas Specialty Hospital, VistaCare Hospice and Lubbock Hospitality House for their compassionate care.
