Kathy was born on June 8, 1950, in Coleman, Texas, to Wilburn Fields and Mavis Cullins Fields. She attended Coleman High School and graduated with the Class of 1969.
After graduating from high school, Kathy began her career as a cook at Lubbock Bowl. She enjoyed cooking and took pride in preparing food for others. On December 3, 1973, she married her late husband, Donnie Lindsey. Together, they shared fifteen years of marriage and were blessed with two children.
Kathy was a proud member of Bethany Baptist Church and later attended New Testament Baptist Church.
Kathy will be remembered for her love of life and the many things that brought her joy. She had a special love for racing and a passion for wrestling. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking for those she loved, and gathering around the table for card games and laughter.
More than anything, Kathy treasured the people in her life. She loved her family deeply and cherished the simple moments they shared. Her laughter, love, and the memories she created will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Kathy was preceded in death by her mother, Mavis, who later married William Stoup. William lovingly welcomed Kathy into his family and loved her as his own. She was also preceded in death by her father, Wilburn Fields; her stepmother, Gracie Fields; and her sister, Rachel Hinsley.
Those left to cherish Kathy’s memory include her sister, Malvina Brouwer; her brothers, Johnny Fields and Kenney Fields; her sons, Darl Lindsey and Robert Lindsey and his wife, Christy; her grandchildren, Ashley and Zachary Owens, and Coby Lindsey; and her great-grandchildren, Brinley Owens and Caleb Owens. She is also survived by her cousins, Paula and Earl Sherrill, as well as many other family members and dear friends.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the loving nurses and aides at Whisperwood Center for the compassion, kindness, and care they provided Kathy during her final years. Their dedication and love brought comfort to Kathy and her family, and they will always be grateful for the care she received.
Kathy’s life was a gift to those who knew and loved her. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, love, and moments that will be treasured forever. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on through her family, the people she loved, and all those whose lives she touched
