Katie left this world to be with our Lord on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at Brookdale Grand Court in Lubbock. She persevered over the years, despite much suffering, to live each day in honor of Jesus Christ.
Katie Sue Hollingsworth was born January 14, 1948, in Tahoka, Texas, to the late Berry and Lois Fischer. She married her high school sweetheart, Robert Eugene Hollingsworth, in Lubbock, Texas on September 16, 1967. Bob and Katie glorified God side by side in the way they raised their three sons, served in several churches in Lubbock, and helped each other through good times and bad.
One of Katie’s legacies was her neverending care for children...those children call her KK. She served the Lord faithfully through the years as a daycare provider, children’s choir leader, Sunday School card ministry organizer, and prayer warrior. Katie was a loving wife, proud Mom, loyal friend, and soft-hearted Grammy. She had a love of music, a sweet tooth for chocolate, and a competitive side during gameplay. She went out with a typical lopsided win in her final game of Hand & Foot with new friends at Brookdale.
Those left to treasure her memory are her precious identical twin sister Mary Landers, sons, Scott, Todd and wife Lori, and Matt and wife Kristi, grandchildren Reagan Boyd, Claire, Caed, Kambree, Cannon and Caleb, nieces Leann Wills, Amy Lamb and Buffy Dunk, and nephew Colby Landers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Life Gift Organ Donation Organization, 5812 64th St, Lubbock, TX 79424.
