Keith Clifford Campbell, "Pops", age 82, passed away peacefully November 3, 2023, at Vitality Shadow Hills Assisted Living. He was born July 7, 1941, in Butler, PA, to parents Frank and Leona Campbell.
After graduating from high school he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He served 26 years and 11 days, earning the rank of Master Sergeant. A self-taught skilled mechanic he quickly became the go-to-guy to repair all kinds of aircrafts. He proudly served in Vietnam, Germany, Spain, The Middle East, and most of Europe. He was awarded several prestigious awards during his term of service, including Air Force Outstanding Unit Leadership Award, with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with device, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Cockpit Egress Familiarization Award, Flight Control Rigging Award, Aircraft Egress Technician, Aircraft Egress System Repair Technician, Outstanding Supervisor/Manager Award, and he was flown all over the world to repair and sustain aircraft.
In 1986, he married the love of his life, Georgia Mae "Polly" Fipps. Never having children of his own, he delighted in acquiring Georgia's children from a previous marriage. He was blessed to become a father and grandfather to her children and grandchildren. He was a wonderful husband and often told people that the happiest day of his life was when he married sweet "Polly". They had 26 happy years together before she passed away in 2013.
After retiring from the U.S. Air Force, Keith loved restoring old, classic cars. He was usually found tinkering under the hood of one or many. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting and making his delicious deer chili. He also loved gardening and growing prize tomatoes. A humble man, with a great sense of humor and spunk, he entertained family and friends with his charm and silly antics.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sister, Eldine Reddinger of New Willmington, PA, his sister-in-law Norma Campbell of Grove City, PA, several nieces and nephews, his bonus children, Tom Fipps of Floydada, TX, Rita (Terry) Funk of Shallowater, TX ,Sharilyn Bratton of Odessa, Tx. and Greg Gilliam of Dothan, Alabama. .
