Kenneth Milton Means, 91, of Ropesville, TX passed away on January 25, 2024. The family will hold a visitation at Resthaven Funeral Home in Lubbock on Monday, January 29th from 5-7 pm and a graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 30th at 10:00 am at Resthaven Memorial Park with Elbert Wuthrich officiating.
Kenneth Milton Means was born October 9, 1932, in Haskell, TX to James and Cora Means. His family moved to Ropesville where he grew up on the family farm and graduated from Ropes High School in 1951. He married the love of his life, Anita Crawford in May 1959 in Amarillo, TX. Their 64 yearlong marriage was blessed with three children, nine grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Kenneth was a lifelong cotton farmer and retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1994. Kenneth’s mischievous nature, quick wit, larger-than-life stories, and contagious laugh will be missed by his family and friends. Kenneth loved to fish and spent much time teaching his kids and grandchildren all the best ways to fish.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Anita Means. His son, Gary Means of Seattle, WA. Two daughters, Sherry Anderson of Dallas, TX and Teri Means of Lubbock, TX. Grandchildren Rachael, Tanner, Miriam, Luke, Kiki, Hanna, Ashlynn, Tia, and Jaxon. Great-grandchildren include Jude, Brooks, Cass, Jack, P.J., Lily Jo, Kiera and Finn.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents James and Cora Means and his siblings Monroe Means, Mary Evelyn Barbee, James Means Jr and Curtis Means.
Serving as pallbearers are Luke Anderson, Tanner Means, Jaxon Floyd, Josh Haverland, Pete Vranderic and Jonathan Evans.
