October 24, 1939 – June 7, 2026
Kenneth Lee Meeks passed from this world into heaven on June 7, 2026. He was born October 24, 1939, in Tucumcari, New Mexico, the youngest of four children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Omer and Orpha Mae Meeks, his sisters Evelyn Swanson and Edna Stout, and his brother Jimmy Meeks.
Kenneth shared 69 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Sandra—a life marked by deep faithfulness to God and to each other. Together, they walked through life’s highs and hardships hand in hand.
Raised on a ranch, Kenneth spent his early years working cattle and farming alongside his family. Life wasn’t always easy—especially during difficult years in Colorado—but those challenges became turning points that led Kenneth and Sandra to truly seek God.
What began as a simple, occasional faith grew into a life-changing relationship with Jesus. Sandra’s journey sparked Kenneth’s own hunger for God, and soon their entire lives were transformed. They followed that calling to Texas, where they found their church home and began serving others.
Kenneth’s faith wasn’t just something he believed—it was something he lived. He and Sandra answered the call to missions in Mexico, where they shared the love of Christ with entire villages and even inside prisons. Later, back in Texas, Kenneth faithfully ministered in the Lubbock County Jail for over 25 years, leading many to the Lord and baptizing inmates—never missing a chance to show kindness, especially at Christmas customized stockings filled with fruit and candy to inmates.
Even in his later years, as his health declined, Kenneth continued sharing his faith—this time with doctors and nurses who cared for him.
Kenneth leaves behind a loving family, including his daughter, Zebbe Dee Hernandez and husband, Ralph Hernandez Jr.; grandchildren, Yamile Charissa Cervantez, Michaela Marie Belitz, Michelle Renee Pawlak and husband, Kyle Pawlak and Isaiah Joel Hernandez and wife, Alanna Jade Hernandez, and great-grandchildren Marquos Alexander Rodriguiez, Michiel Anthony Rodriguiz, Malachie Aaron Rodriguiz, Jozlynn Bree Belitz, Kaylyn Jayne Belitz, Brynnen Grace Belitz, Landon Michael Meeks, Kyleigh Tru Pawlak, Harlyn Grace Pawlak, and Sophia Rose Hernandez. His son, Michael Greg Meeks, was there to welcome him into heaven.
On June 6, 2026, Kenneth was surrounded by family who lovingly released him to the Lord the next day, he stepped into the arms of Jesus, surely hearing the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
