Louvee Goolsby, age 96, passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at The Plaza of Lubbock after a lengthy illness. Louvee was born on April 22, 1922 near Hamlin, Texas to Louis Percy and Ola (Jones) Miller. Her family moved near Lorenzo about 1925 and began farming. She attended Roosevelt High School.
She married Waylon Goolsby on July 8, 1943 in Idalou, Texas. Waylon passed away on June 2, 2003. Louvee was a member of Sunset Church of Christ and was a lifetime member of PTA and a member of The Daughters Of The American Revolution.
Louvee was preceded in death by her brothers, Everett, Leldon, Clovis, Alonzo and Alvis; her sister Lillie Jones, and daughter-in-law, Patsy Goolsby. She is survived by sons: Garland (Sandy), Ronnie (Linda), and David; daughter Connie Bray (Gary). She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation with the family will be Wednesday from 6-8 pm at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 10:00 am, with Don Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
