He was born on April 13, 1947 to Omer and Dovie Duncan in Greenville, Texas. Larry was the youngest of 7 children.
Larry dropped out of school to serve in our Nation's Armed Forces. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and served 3 tours of duty during the Vietnam War. After his Honorable Discharge he worked as a steel worker for W&W Steel Co. You could often find Larry working on, building something or riding his Harley-Davidson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: James, Dean, and Eugene; sister, June; and his life partner, Cindy Smith.
Survived by his sisters, Sarah Taylor and Patricia Clough; daughter, Jessica Smith; niece, Brittany Taylor who aided in his care; and his spoiled cat Salem.
Larry passed away peacefully at home with his daughter, niece, cat, and the loving hands of hospice.
Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 10, 2021 in Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel.
Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
